Professional Background
Lilly Woo has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. She articled in Toronto where she specialized in servicing privately held incorporated businesses. She obtained her CA designation in 1990.
In 1991, she joined General Mills, Canada as the Manager of Accounting Operations where she was responsible for implementing internal controls for the Red Lobster and the Olive Garden restaurant chains. In 1993, she returned to Vancouver and worked at Vancouver Coast Health as a member of an information technology team responsible for implementing and transition to new accounting software. In 1997, she decided to join Richard Mew and form Mew & Company, Chartered Accountants.
Lilly has extensive experience in working with Canadian owned small businesses and is knowledgeable of the operational and resource challenges faced by these businesses. She relies on her extensive general practitioner’s knowledge to assist her clients for success. In addition to providing tax planning and financial statement preparation services, Lilly also provides extensive business consulting services such as computerized accounting system implementation, cost benefit analyses, and budget preparation. Lilly assists clients in implementing an accounting system that meets Canada Revenue Agency deadlines, is cost effective, and provides clients with financial statements on a current basis.
Lilly’s strength is her communication skills. Small business owners are entrepreneurial and very busy. Lilly is able to communicate complex, and at times mundane tax strategies clearly. She reminds clients that a happy business owner is a prosperous business owner.
Personal Interests
Lilly’s passion is playing competitive tennis.
One of her goals is to learn to write and read Chinese characters.
